This site was launched on July 22nd 2000 to offer a central, digital, archive for the work and activities of artist Anait Stephens, who died in 1998. It has been produced with encouragement and support from her family, and is located on the artshost.net computer in England.

Most of the contents are taken from the artist's retrospective catalogue, published by the Museum of Holography in New York during 1979. Other information was added from the Creative Holography Index, The International Catalogue for Holography, published in 1992.
More text and images will be added over the next few months.

Anait.com was publicly announced to coincide with a conference paper presented by Andrew Pepper at the international 'Holography 2000' meeting, held in St. Pölten, Austria, during July 2000. The paper, "Archiving A Creative History: Holography for a Future Generation", explored the need to document and distribute the creative history of holography.

During her 30 years of exploration Anait produced a large body of work. It is hoped that artists beginning their creative exploration in the field of holography might benefit from knowing what has gone before. This site aims to do that by bringing together a diversity of material and making it available to a global audience.
